Slocan Valley Library Service
The Slocan Valley Library Service pilot project is now completed. It was made possible by a grant from the BC Ministry of Education and in partnership with Area H, the Nelson Municipal Library, School District 8 and the Columbia Basin Alliance for Literacy.
For 3 months in Spring 2009 and 3 months in Fall 2009, the Nelson Municipal Library provided library service at the Winlaw School on Thursday evenings from 6:30-8:30 p.m. CBAL organized programs and the Nelson Library provided training for its online resources. Patrons were able to browse a collection of books at the Winlaw School and request specific items be sent out from the Nelson Library. The service was well received and appreciated by those who used it.
If you would like to see Regional Library service develop and grow please see Regional Library Service for more information.
